Adelaide United hits out at 'incredibly rude and inappropriate' Aloisi rumours

Adelaide United chairman Greg Griffin has dismissed as "completely untrue" a report claiming the Reds are targeting Brisbane coach John Aloisi with an offer in the region of half a million dollars.

Aloisi and his brother, assistant coach Ross, have been linked to a move south as speculation intensifies about the future of Reds coach Guillermo Amor, whose defending champions are edging ever closer to the A-League's wooden spoon.

Off-contract Aloisi has been quick to hose down recent rumours, in January stating his desire to stay at the Roar if off-field problems that plagued the last few years are solved for good.

Griffin declined to address Amor's situation, but said Saturday's report on from SBS claiming Aloisi's "mind may have been swayed" by a potential $500,000 deal was wrong.

"It's completely untrue," Griffin told AAP.

"[Roar managing director] Mark Kingsman and I exchanged emails last night confirming exactly that.

"There has been no contact between John and Ross, and Adelaide United.

"It would be incredibly rude and inappropriate to Brisbane, the Aloisis, and our current coaching staff to do so.

"We would never behave like that."

Brisbane football director Craig Moore also tweeted his displeasure at the "false story."

Amor said he didn't deserve a new contract following last month's crushing 5-0 home defeat to Perth.

But the Barcelona legend was in no mood to discuss it after Saturday night's goalless draw with Western Sydney.

"I prefer not to speak about my contract situation," Amor said.

"Because I have a lot of work in this moment, in this team, I think always in today in the game, tomorrow in training and (then) the next day.

"I must not think in the future, I prefer to think in now."
