Aloisi to keep Brisbane Roar players in the dark for grueling fortnight

Brisbane Roar coach John Aloisi will keep even his own players in the dark for at least three days on how he plans to manage a horror 13-day run in which the A-League club will play five games.

The Roar's 6-0 mauling of Filipino club Global FC at Suncorp Stadium on Tuesday night set up a do-or-die date with Shanghai Shenhua in China next Wednesday.

However it will come amidst a busy stretch for the A-League club, which began with a 2-1 win over the Western Sydney Wanderers on Saturday and culminates with a trip to Melbourne City on Saturday week.

After the Roar failed in a bid to have the City game postponed to manage the players' schedule, Aloisi has already previously stated he will split his squad for the China and Melbourne trips.

But he says he won't be telling his players who will need to pack their bags for China, and who will be headed to Melbourne, until after Friday's A-League clash with undefeated Sydney FC.

"I've already planned when I have to do to take care of the majority of the players," Aloisi said.

"But things can always pop up.

"But the players don't know what I'm going to do because it can change day to day."

However Aloisi insisted the club were embracing the difficult period as they sit third on the A-League ladder after back-to-back domestic victories.

"When you're playing games on a regular basis and you're winning, you just want the next game to come along.

"A lot of people will complain about it. We want to play a lot of games, we want to play in Asia. We prepared for it all season, all preseason, and that's why we have the squad we have."

Those who make the trip to China for the final qualification playoff will have the chance to take on Argentinian star Carlos Tevez at his new club in Shanghai Shenhua -- the former home of Tim Cahill.

And it was something Tuesday's four-goal hero, Brandon Borrello admitted the players were already excited about.

"With all that excitement comes a little bit of pressure," he said.

"But with the squad we've got all the players want to play no matter who is going to be there."
