Western Sydney have point to prove against Adelaide - Andrew Redmayne

Western Sydney Wanderers goalkeeper Andrew Redmayne admits that his team have a bone to pick with defending premiers Adelaide United in their A-League grand final rematch on Friday.

The Wanderers return to Adelaide for the first time since being edged 3-1 by the Reds in the league's decider last year to finish runners-up for the third time in four years.

Coupled with last week's disastrous derby defeat to Sydney FC, Redmayne, who wore the gloves in the grand final defeat in May, says the team have a statement to make this weekend.

"[We've] got a bit of a point to prove," Redmayne said on Tuesday.

"It's still a sour note, the grand final. But collectively we've just got to stick together, make those one, two percenters better, and make it count on the weekend."

Andrew Redmayne is likely to start for the Western Sydney Wanderers against Adelaide United.

The Wanderers will be without Spanish import Aritz Borda following his automatic one-game suspension for his red card against the Sky Blues.

However, they do get skipper Nikolai Topor-Stanley back as a key inclusion in a defensive line that conceded four second-half goals against their bitter rivals.

"Topor's a rock at the back. He's a welcome inclusion to the squad," Redmayne said.

The 27-year-old also had a message for supporters who light flares at games after another incident at ANZ Stadium last weekend.

Football Federation Australia on Monday issued the club with a show-cause notice that extended threats of a three-point deduction for fan misbehaviour until the end of the season.

"We don't support that in any way. It's sad that a select few bring down the name for the best part of 62,000. It's disappointing. We don't support it," he said.

"That's what we work towards every single week. It'd be hugely disappointing to lose points."
