Adelaide's Craig Goodwin leaves A-League for Sparta Rotterdam

Winger Craig Goodwin has officially signed with Dutch club Sparta Rotterdam to continue the dismantling of Adelaide United's A-League title-winning attack.

Goodwin passed a medical and signed his deal with the Eredivisie club overnight, joining fellow grand final attackers Bruce Kamau and Pablo Sanchez in leaving the Reds.

"I'm 24-years-old and I've gained some great experience in the A-League but I feel it's time to try my luck in Europe and try and progress as a player as much as possible," Goodwin said in a statement on Tuesday.

United now face a recruiting drive to replace Kamau, who has joined A-League rivals, striker Pablo Sanchez -- they both scored in Adelaide's 3-1 grand final against Western Sydney Wanderers -- and Goodwin, who won the club's player of the year award.

"The team last season was the best team I've played with, but they're also the best group of people," he added.

"It has been two years that I'll never forget because I won trophies with my hometown club and helped to make history with them as well."
