Perth Glory 'solely focused' on Sydney FC match, not title race - Josh Risdon

Andy Keogh & Josh Risdon
Andy Keogh and Josh Risdon have both been in excellent form for Perth Glory.

Victory on Sunday might be enough to deliver Perth Glory an A-League home final, but Socceroos defender Josh Risdon says the title outsiders should not be concerned by other results this weekend.

Glory have emerged as genuine championship threats on the back of 10 wins from their past 11 matches -- the streak lifting them to within one point of fourth-placed Melbourne City.

Given their clash against Sydney FC is the last match of the regular season on Sunday night, the Glory will know exactly where they stand and what they have to do before they take their field.

To secure a home final, they need Western Sydney to lose to Wellington, or hope Melbourne City lose or draw against Adelaide -- before the Glory themselves would then need to get all three points against the Sky Blues in Sydney.

But no matter what is riding on the result, Risdon said it was important for Glory to get the win against Sydney.

"If we win on Sunday, that will give us a confidence boost if we have to head away in the first week of the finals," Risdon said.

"We want to keep this great run going.

"We'll have a look at the games before us. But we'll just solely focus on the game on Sunday, no matter what the results are beforehand."

Ladder-leading Brisbane, Adelaide, and Western Sydney are the favourites to win this season's title.

But Risdon is confident Glory has what it takes to pip the trio, especially with striker Andy Keogh and Spanish import Diego Castro in white-hot form.

"We've definitely got the team to do it," Risdon said. "Anything can happen in the finals. It's a one-off game, so you've got to be at your best on the day."

Keogh is on an eight-match scoring run, while Castro is one of the favourites to be crowned the A-League's player of the season.
