A-League: Perth Glory win five-goal thriller; Maclaren boosts Brisbane

Perth Glory scored a late penalty as Melbourne Victory saw their five-game unbeaten run ended in a 3-2 thriller at nib Stadium.

Home side Perth were 2-0 up inside half an hour as Andy Keogh took advantage of a defensive error before Diego Castro tucked away a rebound.

Besart Berisha struck either side of the break to put the match back on even terms before Victory went down to 10 men when Fahid Ben Khalfallah was sent off for kicking out at Shane Lowry.

But Castro secured the points from the spot after substitute Nick Ansell pushed Keogh inside the area.

Jamie Maclaren scored twice as Brisbane Roar beat Sydney FC 3-1 at Allianz Stadium.

The Australia international put his side ahead at the break before Sydney found a leveller when the ball cannoned in off Brisbane defender Corona.

But Matt McKay soon struck with a header before Maclaren scored again as Roar secured maximum points for the first time in four weeks.

Luis Garcia sparkled as he inspired Central Coast Mariners to a 3-1 win over Wellington.

The Spaniard scored and set up two to completely change the match after coming on as a second-half substitute.

He backheeled home the first after a goalkeeping fumble before playing a one-two with defender Storm Roux, who ran through to score.

Mitch Austin added a third despite appeals for offside, and Wellington had only a late Blake Powell goal to show for their work.
