Melbourne City hold Perth Glory, Newcastle Jets draw

A-League leaders Perth Glory were held to a goalless draw by Melbourne City on Sunday.

City's Dutch defender Kew Jaliens missed the game's best chance while the Glory were denied in injury time when Tando Velpahi saved from Andy Keogh.

The solitary point left Perth two clear of both Melbourne Victory and Adelaide United at the summit.

Struggling Newcastle Jets allowed two points to slip away as they went down to 10 men and conceded a last-minute equaliser to Wellington Phoenix.

Newcastle were 2-0 up inside 18 minutes, Scott Neville adding to Roly Bonevacia's own goal, but Roy Krishna pulled one back and, after Ben Kantarovski was sent off, substitute Jason Hicks levelled.
