Brisbane Roar extend lead

Brisbane Roar surged seven points clear at the top of the A-League table following a rare 3-0 win away to Melbourne Victory.

The Roar had not beaten the Victory in Melbourne for eight games but were on top once Liam Miller found the target on 28 minutes.

Matt McKay and Dimitri Petratos scored quality goals after the break to cap off a superb away performance -- with Adrian Leijer's red card making it impossible for Victory to mount a fightback. Defeat for Victory leaves them third in the table.

Perth Glory claimed a first win under new boss Kenny Lowe, 1-0 at Newcastle Jets.

The home side were made to pay for wasting a number of chances when Chris Harold pounced on a wayward back pass from full-back Jacob Pepper after 38 minutes.

The Jets completely dominated the second half and could have scored a number of goals but desperate Perth defence combined with some lacklustre finishing ensured the visitors held on for an away win that lifts them two points off the finals places.
