Melbourne Victory remain undefeated

Melbourne Victory maintained their unbeaten start to the A-League season as they claimed a dramatic 3-2 win over a spirited Wellington Phoenix.
James Troisi celebrates after putting Melbourne Victory 3-0 up.

The Victory looked to be cruising to three points as an Archie Thompson goal and a brace from James Troisi had them 3-0 up just after the half-hour mark.
However, the New Zealanders refused to lie down and Jeremy Brockie reduced the deficit before half-time, with Paul Ifill scoring with six minutes remaining to set up a frantic finish.
That was as close as they got, though, with the Victory holding on to move within a point of leaders Brisbane Roar, while the Phoenix still remain without a win on two points.
