Kenny Lowe has been relieved of his duties as Perth Glory manager, a job he held since 2013.

Perth Glory's longest-serving coach Kenny Lowe has been sacked after failing to guide the side to the A-League finals this season.

Lowe, who had one more year to run on his contract, has been head coach since late 2013.

He will now move into a youth role at the club, where he is expected to be named technical manager at the Glory Academy.

The Wanderers needed a win to advance but came away empty handed after 3-2 defeat at home.

Former Western Sydney captain Robbie Cornthwaite has delivered a biting assessment of Josep Gombau's A-League coaching tenure, saying the Wanderers had been right to sack him.

The Wanderers needed a win to advance but came away empty handed after 3-2 defeat at home.

Western Sydney coach Josep Gombau has been sacked less than six months into his three-year A-League contract.

It's understood chief executive John Tsatsimas told Gombau the news on Thursday morning, four days after the Wanderers failed to make the finals in his first season in charge.
