Sydney FC have been dominant against the Western Sydney Wanderers in the A-League, and now they have extended that form to the W-League as the Sky Blues posted a confident 2-0 derby win over their rivals on Sunday.
Leena Khamis netted twice in the first half as Sydney FC eased to a deserved win at Allianz Stadium in front of 4,178 spectators -- the second highest W-League attendance outside a finals match.
Matildas forward Khamis opened the scoring on 13 minutes with a low finish, and she doubled the lead just before the half-hour mark by adroitly turning Kyah Simon's shot home while sitting on the ground.
Khamis could have had a hat trick but was denied by a magnificent Jada Whyman save, while Alanna Kennedy had a goal disallowed as Sydney had numerous chances to extend the victory margin.
At the other end of the field, the Wanderers found goalkeeper Sham Khamis -- younger sister of the Sydney FC forward -- in solid form.

Sydney's win came despite the absence of suspended star forward Caitlin Foord, while Servet Uzunlar was injured during the warm-up
"I was very happy with the way we played but we need to be more ruthless in front of goal and that's something that we'll be working on," said Sydney FC coach Dan Barrett.
Sydney FC, who lost in last week's season opener, have now won seven of their nine matches against their city rivals, losing just once.
An impressive 4-0 win for the Newcastle Jets proved they will be a force this season as they seek to end an eight-year finals drought.
The Jets scored three times inside the opening 23 minutes against Melbourne Victory at Lakeside Stadium.
Newcastle's American imports came to the fore with Megan Oyster and Arin Gilliland netting, while Emma Stanbury added another before Jenna Kingsley completed the demolition during injury time.
Saturday's action was headlined by a 2-1 win for champions Melbourne City over fellow title contenders Canberra United.
Canberra dominated for periods of the match but were profligate in front of goal, and Melina Ayres' winner leaves City sit on top of the W-League ladder.
Perth Glory and Brisbane Roar -- both first round winners -- were forced to settle for a scoreless draw in the west.
