Atletico Madrid's Jan Oblak plays down talk of replacing Buffon at Juventus

Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak has brushed aside speculation that he is being lined up to succeed Gianluigi Buffon at Juventus.

Tuttosport reported on Tuesday that Juve have been in contact with Oblak, 24, in an attempt to lure him to Turin next year once the 39-year-old Buffon retires.

Oblak, who with Buffon was named in UEFA's Champions League squad of the 2016-17 season, is under contract with Atletico until June 2021.

"I have a contract with Atletico and I'm here. That's all I can say," he is quoted as saying by AS.

Oblak, who is in his fourth year at Atletico, was pivotal in Wednesday's 2-1 La Liga win at Athletic Bilbao.

The Slovenia international kept out Aritz Aduriz's first-half penalty and made six saves on the night, though he played down his heroics.

"I think all the players are key in a game," he told Atletico's official website. "Penalties are a bit of a lottery and I was able to save one on Wednesday. I wish I could save them all.

"I just try to stop as many as I can, knowing that I will not get too upset if I can't prevent some from going in."

Atletico are unbeaten in La Liga this season, four points adrift of leaders Barcelona after five games. They next host Sevilla on Saturday.
