Leicester's Premier League run inspiring Atletico Madrid - Filipe Luis

Filipe Luis believes Atletico Madrid can take inspiration from Leicester's march towards the Premier League title.

Leicester are closing in on winning the title for the first time in their history, needing just three points from their last three games to guarantee success following Tottenham's 1-1 draw with West Bromwich Albion on Monday.

Atletico, meanwhile, are still involved in the La Liga title race, despite their lack of spending power compared to rivals Barcelona and Real Madrid.

And with the club still competing in the Champions League, with a semifinal first leg against Bayern Munich to come on Wednesday, Filipe Luis says his side can take heart from the Foxes' achievements this season.

"Look at what is happening this year with Leicester, they are a modest team and are almost champions in the Premier League," the former Chelsea player is quoted as saying by Sky Sports. "Epic things happen in football.

"Although there's a difference in our budgets, we are the team that plays most as a team. We don't have a megastar, we have a team where everyone runs, everyone fights for the player next to them, and that makes us stronger.

"The team thinks a lot collectively, nobody thinks individually, that's the most positive things that we have. We've had a lot of bad and good moments in the season and now we are stable, we have players who are getting better and better."
