New Atletico Madrid signing Jackson Martinez does not want to be compared to fellow Colombia striker Radamel Falcao.
Martinez, 28, completed his €35 million transfer from Porto last week and arrived in Madrid on Tuesday after signing a four-year contract with the Rojiblancos.
Martinez scored 67 goals in 90 appearances over the past three seasons, while Falcao, who joined Atletico from Porto in the summer of 2011, had scored 41 goals in 51 appearances for the Portuguese side over the course of two seasons.
Falcao, 29, then scored 52 goals in 68 appearances for Atletico before being sold to Monaco two years ago for a reported €60 million, but Martinez said he did not welcome comparisons.
"Falcao is Falcao and Jackson is Jackson," he told Marca. "We both do our jobs and I just came here to try to do the best I can.
"I'm here to add something to an already strong side. My biggest motivation is to be here at Atletico and to give all I have for this club and for the fans."
Atletico needed to reinforce their attack after selling Croatian forward Mario Mandzukic to Juventus for €19 million last month.
Mandzukic scored 20 goals in 43 games but lasted only one season in the Spanish capital, but Martinez hopes he will be well suited to Diego Simeone's team.
"I believe my style of play suits Atletico and that is the reason why they have signed me," Martinez said. "My aim is to work hard and help the team improve. I want to get to work as soon as possible."
Atletico, La Liga winners in 2014, finished third last season.
They have made a number of changes to their squad, selling Arda Turan to Barcelona, while bringing in Luciano Vietto from Villarreal, Yannick Carrasco from Monaco and Stefan Savic from Fiorentina.
