Atalanta appoint Gian Piero Gasperini to replace Edoardo Reja

Atalanta have appointed Gian Piero Gasperini to replace Edoardo Reja, the Serie A club announced.

Gasperini, 58, has been in charge of Inter Milan, Palermo and Genoa -- whom he led to promotion in 2007 and then to 11th place in Serie A last season during his second spell.

Atalanta described Gasperini as "The man of football, the master of football" on their website, with Reja leaving the club on Monday.
