Roma defender Kostas Manolas signs new contract

Kostas Manolas has signed a new four-and-a-half-year contract with Roma.

The 26-year-old Greece defender, who joined the Giallorossi from Olympiakos three years ago, is approaching 150 Serie A appearances for the capital club and has committed until June 2022.

On Saturday, director of sport Monchi told Roma's official website: "We are highly satisfied. With Manolas renewing, the ambitions of the player and the club are matched."

Manolas said: "I am very happy to sign this extension. I wanted to stay, the club wanted me to stay, and we were able to reach an agreement.

"I'm ready to do the best I can, as I always have, for this team. I want to win something with this club."

Manolas had been linked with Premier League clubs Chelsea and Arsenal in recent weeks.
