Roma manager Di Francesco won't overlook Qarabag in Champions Lge

Roma manager Eusebio Di Francesco says his side can't underestimate anyone after Thursday's Champions League draw.

The Giallorossi were drawn in Group C along with Atletico Madrid, Chelsea and first-timers Qarabag.

And Di Francesco, who took over for Luciano Spalletti at the conclusion of last season, says his side must respect everyone in what will likely be a battle to qualify for the knockout stage.

"I watched the draw together with the team and you hope that something good happens, but then you see big clubs like Chelsea and Atletico come out," Di Francesco said. "But we've not got to underestimate Qarabag.

"Chelsea are really good. They've got a great coach and a great squad of players, and they have strengthened with [Alvaro] Morata. We've got to respect everybody.

"Atletico have been in two finals in the past four years. They may not play the prettiest of football, but they always get results with a solid game. In addition to having some great players, their real strength is working with [Diego] Simeone."

Recently retired Roma legend Francesco Totti, who now serves as a club director, echoed Di Francesco's sentiments.

"We know that you have to face the strongest teams in Europe. It won't be easy for any of them to take on Roma either," Totti told Mediaset Premium.

"Diego Simeone and Antonio Conte are two top international coaches, but we'll try to cause them as many problems as possible."

Roma will open Champions League play on Sep 12, when they host Atletico at the Stadio Olimpico.
