Roma have terminated the contract of their director of sport Walter Sabatini, the Serie A club announced on Thursday. Sabatini has been in charge of the Giallorossi's transfers for the past five years and had been expected to depart after this season. However, the club have now appointed Frederic Massara in his place. "I want to thank Walter for what he did for AS Roma and for all his dedication to our venture," AS Roma president Jim Pallotta said in a statement. "I also want to thank him for all I've learned from him. Please stop smoking!" Sabatini will host a news conference on Friday.
