Lorenzo Insigne can be Napoli's Francesco Totti - agent

Lorenzo Insigne wants to become the "Francesco Totti of Napoli," according to the player's agent Fabio Andreotti.

Roma captain Totti is adored by Giallorossi fans for his commitment to the one and only club of his playing career and many fans -- including a commentator for Mediaset television -- were moved to tears on Wednesday night when he came off the bench at the Stadio Olimpico and scored two goals within two minutes to earn his side a 3-2 win over Torino.

That is the kind of legacy Insigne wants to create at Napoli, to whom he returned from Pescara in 2012 having started his career in the youth ranks of his home town club before spells with Foggia and Pescara.

"I hope Insigne can be the Totti of Napoli," Andreotti told Radio Crc.

"He still needs to be consecrated, but he's shown he's capable of doing big things and we will plan where his future will lead at the end of the season.

"We want a project to be built around Insigne. Technically, he already has that status now. The player's ambition is to stay with Napoli for life, but obviously it doesn't only depend on him. I think the conditions are there for this to happen, which is why I have a positive outlook. But words are one thing, actions are another."

Insigne is enjoying one of his best seasons with 12 goals and eight assists helping the Azzurri challenge Juventus for the Scudetto and seeing him set for a place in the Italy squad for Euro 2016.
