Italy coach Antonio Conte says he is enjoying Rome amid Roma job reports

Italy coach Antonio Conte has expressed his delight at spending so much time in Rome amid reports he could become Roma's new manager next season.

Conte guided the Azzurri to Euro 2016 over the past week, but his future remains in doubt. It is reported the 46-year-old misses the day-to-day coaching involved at club level and is to leave his position as Italy coach once his contract expires next summer.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the Giallorossi -- once Conte's arch-rival as coach of Juventus -- have already enquired about his availability.

And Conte has spoken highly of the city, telling RAI television: "I've had the pleasure of living in Rome more often this year as national team coach and I've got to say I've found it really good. I'm very serene because of this."

Conte did not want to comment on a direct link with replacing Rudi Garcia at Roma, however, adding that "Roma have got to be very serene because they've got a great coach already."

Meanwhile, Italy duo Graziano Pelle and Riccardo Montolivo have expressed their gratitude to Conte after Tuesday night's 2-1 win over Norway.

"The coach has got a unique character and does not lack any determination, and this is reflected in us on the field," Southampton forward Pelle told RAI. "His future is not up to me to decide, but he's a great coach.

"He's one who takes care of the minor details and always gives it his very best."

Montolivo added: "I've got to thank Conte. I've not played in the national team for 17 months but that chapter can now be closed. I'm really satisfied to be back in the Italy fold."
