Rudi Garcia's Roma to reside at training camp for Serie A run-in

Roma have moved into a training camp in preparation for their final three matches of the Serie A season, although coach Rudi Garcia's men have been granted a day off.

The Giallorossi have won only four of their last 13 games, seeing what was a comfortable advantage over Lazio in third cut to just one point ahead of the potentially decisive derby in just over a week's time.

Defeat to AC Milan at the weekend could have seen them fall behind the Biancocelesti, but Inter Milan did them a favour with a win in the capital.

That has nevertheless failed to alleviate the concern of club bosses, who wanted the entire squad to remain together until Sunday's home game with Udinese.

They will instead be given Thursday evening free to see their families after Garcia convinced bosses the players needed some free time, but they will still spend three nights at their Trigoria training facilities prior to Sunday's pivotal match.

"In order to prepare for our league game in the best way possible, the team will stay for the night at the Fulvio Bernardini sports centre on the nights of Wednesday, Friday and Saturday," said a statement on the club's official website.

Gervinho will not be among them, however, after his season was curtailed by a "minor hamstring strain," as the club reported. The Ivory Coast international will miss the Giallorossi's final three games of the term while he receives treatment.

The 27-year-old's injury-hit campaign saw him restricted to 24 appearances in Serie A, in which he scored twice. He netted three in Roma's six Champions League group games and a further two in four Europa League appearances.
