Rudi Garcia: Roma fans' boos understandable after Parma draw

Roma coach Rudi Garcia says his side have got to forget about chasing Juventus and focus on rediscovering their form after being held to a goalless draw by bottom-placed Parma on Sunday.

Speaking after that disappointing result, and before Juve failed to increase their seven-point advantage on Sunday night as they too were held to a draw by Cesena, Garcia showed understanding for the fans who jeered his team off the field at the final whistle.

Roma have drawn their last five matches at the Olimpico and, while they are unbeaten in 13 --- since losing 2-0 at Napoli on Nov. 1 -- too many of those results have been draws.

"It's only normal that the fans are disappointed with this draw," Garcia said at a news conference. "If we have any ambitions, then we've got to be beating the side at the bottom. Now we've got another game, on Thursday in the Europa League [against Feyenoord], and we've got to win that one, if only for the fans. It's been too long since we gave them a win at the Olimpico.

"We've got to focus on the future because we can't change the past. We can't talk about the league table -- we just need to talk about finding some consistency. Only the future will tell if we can have more continuity and become more efficient in attack.

"There are no excuses, though, because we can't have any excuses. There's nothing more to say."
