Monaco forward Kylian Mbappe: Champions League run a dream

Monaco forward Kylian Mbappe has said his side's run to the semifinals of the Champions League has made a boyhood dream come true.

The Ligue 1 club knocked out Manchester City and Dortmund en route to a last-four meeting with Italian champions Juventus, having started their campaign in the third qualifying round.

Forward Mbappe, 18, has produced a string of outstanding performances and attracted the attention of Real Madrid, City and Manchester United.

And reports in the Spanish media have suggested Madrid could offer in the region of €100 million for him.

But Mbappe has said he is solely focused on Monaco and told the official UEFA website the Champions League run was the realisation of a long-held ambition.

"My personal highlight was the away leg of the Manchester City tie, because it was my first start -- I heard the music as we walked out onto the pitch and it was really special," he said. "I took real pleasure from that experience.

"Since I was a boy, I've always dreamed of playing in the Champions League. I would watch all the games -- even now I still watch all the games. So playing in it was an immense pleasure.

Mbappe said he believed his side "have the qualities" to get past Juventus, who knocked out Barcelona to reach the semifinals.

"Juventus are a great club. Everybody knows their history, the great players who played there, the great players who still play there.

"But we also have qualities and we'll do everything we can to get to the final."

He hailed Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon as a player "who has made his mark on history" and added: "You work every day to play against players like him.

"When you do, you want to give your best to beat them."
