Andre Villas-Boas to take time off despite Monaco talk - agent

Departed Zenit St Petersburg boss Andre Villas-Boas is not looking for a quick return to management with Monaco, according to his agent.

Villas-Boas, 38, was spotted in the principality last weekend, leading to speculation that he could replace fellow Portuguese coach Leonardo Jardim.

Villas-Boas is free to take up a new role after leaving Russian side Zenit at the end of the season.

But his agent says that the former Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur coach is not interested in succeeding Jardim, 41, whose future at Monaco is uncertain.

"It's completely wrong," Carlos Goncalves told France Football.

"He's in Monaco -- as he has done for around the past 15 years -- to attend the F1 Grand Prix with his friends.

"He wants to rest for at least six months."

Goncalves had told the same magazine last month that Villas-Boas planned to take a break from the game to spend more time with his family.

Monaco finished third in Ligue 1 last season, missing out on the Champions League group stages after being thrashed 6-1 by runners-up Lyon on the penultimate day of the season.

Former Sporting Lisbon manager Jardim, who took over in 2014, has a contract with the principality club until 2015.

France Football claimed recently that Inter Milan, Porto and Roma would all be interested in Jardim if Monaco decide to end their agreement with him.
