Jardim to take charge of Monaco

Leonardo Jardim will coach Monaco next season as successor to Claudio Ranieri, his representatives have confirmed.

Ranieri left his job at the Stade Louis II having guided Monaco to second place in Ligue 1 this season. Jardim, 39, had been tipped to take over from the Italian in the principality even before he announced he would leave his job with Sporting Lisbon last month.

French media reported on Thursday that the agency that handles the former Olympiakos boss' interests, International Foot, has now confirmed Jardim will sign a three-year contract with the French top-flight side, and could be unveiled to the press on Friday.

Monaco are reported to have paid Sporting three million euros to free Jardim, who will earn two million euros a season, from the final year of his contract with the Portuguese club.
