Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger offered F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton chance to train

Four-time Fomula One world champion Lewis Hamilton has revealed that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger offered him a chance to train with the club.

Hamilton, an Arsenal fan, spoke about his admiration for Wenger and insisted he was amazed by how well the Frenchman has stayed true to his values.

"I always had great admiration for Arsene," he told a news conference in Azerbaijan. "For anyone to have commitment to a team and the loyalty he's shown, through all the ups and downs, through outside individuals saying negatives, positives, media saying positives, negatives, but to stay true to your values and continue to strive to what you believe in, I think he's really been awesome.

"While the team hasn't always been successful I really hope that he feels great about his time. I had the privilege of meeting him a couple of times, which was actually pretty late in my career, which was strange because I could have met him early.

"He actually asked me to go and train with the team which I haven't been able to do yet. But he was always really welcoming and it's always cool to meet our team boss -- I've been supporting them since I was five, so I really want to wish him all the best and I think his future is as bright as he wants it to be.

"I hope he takes the positives out of the great experiences he has and I really wish him all the best for the future."
