Mesut Ozil surpasses Eric Cantona as quickest to 50 Premier League assists

English Premier League: Shkodran Mustafi (8') Arsenal 1-0 Watford
While Aaron Ramsey feels Arsenal "turned a little corner" at Milan, former Gunner Paul Mariner explains why they shouldn't be getting carried away with their 2-0 win.
After a torrid run of results, Arsenal pulled off a big 2-0 win over AC Milan in their Europa League first leg tie at the San Siro.
Arsenal eased the pressure on Arsene Wenger with a 2-0 victory in their Europa League round-of-16 first leg against Milan.

Mesut Ozil's assist for Shkodran Mustafi during Arsenal's game against Watford on Sunday was his 50th in the Premier League and saw him become the quickest ever to reach that milestone.

Having reached that landmark in just 141 game the feat saw him break Eric Cantona's all-time record in the division.

Former Manchester United forward Cantona reached the same number in 143 games.

It was Ozil's third assist in two games after he set up both goals in Arsenal's 2-0 Europa League win at AC Milan on Thursday.

Mustafi's goal, which came eight minutes into the game, was Arsenal's 1,000th in the Premier League.
