Henrikh Mkhitaryan set to make his Arsenal debut at Swansea

Henrikh Mkhitaryan could make his Arsenal debut against Swansea on Tuesday, although it remains to be seen what position Arsene Wenger will use him in.

Mkhitaryan completed his swap from Manchester United in exchange for Alexis Sanchez last week and is expected to be in Arsenal's squad for the Premier League clash at the Liberty Stadium.

Wenger said on Friday that he hasn't decided whether the Armenia international will start right away, though, and is still pondering how best to fit him into the side.

"I will know more about him in 2-3 days as we prepare and find out the best position for him," Wenger said.

Mkhitaryan, who will take over Sanchez's No. 7 shirt at Arsenal, has traditionally been used mainly on the wing or as a central playmaker. However, Wenger said he could also play as a deeper-lying central midfielder.

"I think Mkhitaryan can play in all positions in midfield. In a box-to-box role, certainly not a defensive role or as a holding player, but all the other positions are not out of reach," Wenger said.

The Gunners will also be boosted by the return of Olivier Giroud from a hamstring injury but fellow forward Danny Welbeck (hip) is still missing.

Giroud has been linked with a move away from the Emirates this month, but that is still dependent on Arsenal being able to sign Borussia Dortmund's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang first.

Arsenal have won their last two games without Sanchez, brushing aside Crystal Palace 4-1 last weekend and beating Chelsea 2-1 to reach the Carabao Cup final. But they're still only sixth in the Premier League table, five points behind fourth-place Liverpool.
