Alexandre Lacazette given Lucas Perez's No. 9 shirt at Arsenal

Arsenal have given new striker Alexandre Lacazette the No. 9 shirt amid speculation over the futures of both Lucas Perez and Joel Campbell.

Perez was given the No. 9 when he joined from Deportivo La Coruna last summer, but could be sold in this window after failing to win a regular place.

He was not included in the preseason trip to Australia and has been given the No. 28 shirt -- a number that previously belonged to Campbell, who spent last season on loan Sporting Lisbon.

No new number has been announced for Campbell, who has not been part of Arsenal's preseason preparations.

Lacazette is expected to be Arsenal's leading striker next season after arriving from Lyon in a deal that could be worth up to £52 million.

He will make his debut in Thursday's friendly match against Sydney FC and will hope to break "the No. 9 curse" at Arsenal, which has seen previous wearers of the shirt struggle to make much of an impact.

Perez could become the latest No. 9 to leave after a short spell, following Lukas Podolski, Park Chu-Young, Eduardo da Silva, Julio Baptista and Jose Antonio Reyes.
