Arsenal duo Alexis Sanchez and Aaron Ramsey make returns to full training

Alexis Sanchez and Aaron Ramsey returned to full training with Arsenal on Thursday, raising hopes that both will be ready for the Gunners' Premier League opener against Liverpool next weekend.

Sanchez appeared to have shaken off an ankle injury sustained in the Copa America final in June as he took part in drills at the club's London Colney training ground.

Ramsey was back in action after being given an extended break following Wales' run to the Euro 2016 semifinals.

Manager Arsene Wenger has said both players are likely to be part of the trip to Scandinavia for two final preseason games, against Viking in Norway on Friday and Manchester City in Sweden on Sunday.

That would put both in contention to play against Liverpool the following Sunday.

Arsenal are still without Mesut Ozil, who is back in London but has yet to return to training, and France duo Laurent Koscielny and Olivier Giroud, who are expected back on Monday.

Wenger has said he will not rush his Euro 2016 stars back after their holidays, meaning the Gunners could be without the trio against Liverpool.
