Arsenal's Granit Xhaka trains with Kosovan club during holiday

Arsenal's new signing Granit Xhaka is staying in shape by training with a club in Kosovo during a holiday visit to his parents' homeland.

Xhaka, whose parents are Kosovo-Albanians who settled in Switzerland, is in Kosovo's capital Pristina as he takes a break after playing for the Swiss at Euro 2016.

But he is not staying away from the football pitch as FC Prishtina posted photos on Twitter of the midfielder training with the club on Wednesday.

Xhaka and his brother Taulant were born in Switzerland but have been regular visitors to Pristina on their offseason breaks in the past.

The brothers had to face each other at Euro 2016 last month as Taulant plays for Albania and Granit represents Switzerland, who won the group-stage game 1-0.

This is Xhaka's first visit since joining the Gunners from Borussia Moenchengladbach, and the move seems to have gone down well among fans in Kosovo as he was greeted by supporters in Arsenal shirts.

Kosovo's own national team was granted full FIFA status this year and will enter World Cup qualifying for the first time in September.
