Napoli would be a good fit for Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud - agent

The agent for Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud believes Napoli would be a great fit for his client should Arsenal decide to sell him this summer.

Giroud, 29, is fresh off a devastating loss with France at the hands of Portugal in the Euro 2016 final on Sunday, but the former Montpellier player has been the subject of transfer rumours while playing with his national team.

Arsenal made a move for Jamie Vardy ahead of the Euros, but the Premier League-winning striker for Leicester City turned down a possible deal with the Gunners and signed a contract extension with the Foxes instead.

Reports in Italian and UK outlets have linked Giroud as part of a cash-and-player swap for Gonzalo Higuain that would see Arsenal ship the player and £42 million to Napoli in exchange for the Argentine international.

Speaking to Radio Crc, Mickael Manuello said: "As of today, Giroud is an Arsenal forward. If they were to ask him to leave, then we'd evaluate the situation.

"There would be no fear for Olivier to go to Napoli, as we're talking about a magnificent place.

"In Naples, my client could have a wonderful lifestyle, not to mention that Maurizio Sarri's style of football would get the best out of a striker like him."

Giroud, who signed a new deal in July of 2015 that runs until 2018, led Arsenal with 19 goals during the 2015-16 campaign and added a team second-best six assists.
