Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has 'no chance' for England - Wenger

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed that the club do not have any additional injury concerns for the game against Liverpool on Monday, but revealed that Jack Wilshere would not be available for England duty next month.

Wilshere, Danny Welbeck and Tomas Rosicky are all sidelined for the Gunners, so Wenger has been forced to stick with the same squad from the opening Premier League clashes with West Ham and Crystal Palace against Liverpool.

England midfielder Wilshere is on the comeback trail from another ankle injury and Wenger insists that he will be first to return, telling a news conference: "Rosicky is progressing nicely but he is far away. Wilshere should be the first back from those players."

However, the Gunners boss was not hopeful that Wilshere would be ready to perform for England against San Marino in Euro 2016 qualifying on Sept. 5.

"We believe that is too optimistic to think that he will be available for England," he added. "After the international break he has a chance but beforehand no chance."

Wenger was more positive about Alexis Sanchez, who has returned in good fitness after being given time off following summer's the Copa America.

"I think on Monday night he will not be far from 100 percent," he said. "It's surprising because when he doesn't have the fitness he has the mental resources."

Mesut Ozil has also been in the news recently, with a reported loan move to Besiktas mooted, but Wenger played down the German's exit and insisted that he was happy: "I feel Mesut is now completely committed to the club. In the first year he maybe didn't know after he had left Real Madrid."
