Petr Cech likens Arsenal dressing room to former club Chelsea's

Petr Cech has told The Sun that the team spirit at his new club Arsenal is "quite extraordinary."

Cech, 33, signed for Arsenal from Premier League champions Chelsea last month, ending his 11-year association with the Stamford Bridge side.

The Czech Republic international is currently with his Gunners teammates during their preseason training and he has been impressed by the squad's unity.

He said: "I have to say I've found the team spirit at Arsenal quite extraordinary.

"Everybody is pulling in the same direction, which is why I believe we will have a successful season.

"You need to have that connection between players to work towards the same targets.

"I've only been here for a short while but it was clear right from my first day at the club that the team is together."

Cech also reflected on the club's hopes of landing silverware in the 2015-16 season, after they retained the FA Cup trophy last campaign.

He added: "We have players with a lot of experience who have won the World Cup and young players who want to prove their point and play as much as possible.

"There are a lot of things in common with the Chelsea dressing room and we are working hard to prepare for a successful season.

"But there are a lot of opponents in the pack in the Premier League and the Champions League who have the same ambitions.

"Chelsea will want to win the league again, Manchester United are buying players to make them really strong, Manchester City already have the players to compete and I'm sure Liverpool, Tottenham and others want to join us at the top.

"So it will be a tough season but the real strength of Arsenal lies in our numbers.

"This squad has genuine competition for every single place in the team and we are going to need all of them during the course of the season."
