Seattle Sounders youths train with Argentina and star striker Lionel Messi

Current and former Seattle Sounders FC youth academy players had their dream come true when they trained with the Argentina team which included Napoli's Gonzalo Higuain and Barcelona forward Lionel Messi.

Argentina were in Seattle on Monday, ahead of their final Copa America group stage game against Bolivia, and decided to hold their practice session alongside the Sounders youngsters at Starfire Sports in Tukwila, Washington.

Gerardo Martino's team have already qualified for the quarterfinals as Group D leaders, and will face surprise package Venezuela on June. 19.

"I can't even describe it," U18 midfielder Connor Noblat told MLS.com. "Imagine the most happy moment of your life ... and then multiply that by like 10."

"One of the coolest things I'll ever do in my life," added U16 midfielder Cameron Martin. "So far in my life, it's probably the coolest thing I've ever done, just being on the same pitch as some of my idols."

Former Seattle academy member and current UCLA standout Seyi Adekowa was also quick to add that the opportunity to train with Messi, meant the chance to observe and see how the Barcelona star goes about his regime.

"I wanted to see how he trained, how he acted, the little things that he does," Adekowa said. "Not just the way he plays, but the way he carries himself and the way he gets into every tackle and doesn't worry about what's happening on the field and just plays the game."

While training was closed to the public, it did not stop fans from hunting down their favourite Argentine footballers, with fans seen chasing after the team bus, climbing fences surrounding the training facility and chanting Messi's name.
