Sergio Aguero: Lionel Messi said we must greet Cordoba fans

Argentina national team striker Sergio Aguero said it was the idea of his teammate Lionel Messi to have the team get down off the bus at the hotel in Cordoba to meet the fans and sign autographs.

Argentina host Bolivia at Mario Kempes Stadium pitch in Cordoba on Tuesday in CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying, six days after beating Chile 2-1 to extend their unbeaten run to four matches. The Albiceleste are fifth in the qualifying table, having lost to Ecuador in their first game.

"There were a lot of people at the airport when we landed and when we were getting down from the bus at the hotel, Leo said: 'We are going to sign autographs,'" Aguero told ESPN. "The people in Buenos Aires have seen us a lot but here in the interior they almost never see us. The last time we came to Cordoba was against Paraguay [in 2012]."

Bolivia are second bottom after five games, having lost 3-2 to Colombia last week, with their only points coming in a 4-2 home win over Venezuela in November.

"We have to return the love to the fans," Aguero said. "Against Bolivia the game is going to be hard. They are going to come out to defend and run and try to stop our game. We have to play well."
