Injured Marcos Rojo won't play for Argentina in World Cup qualifiers

Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo will not feature for Argentina in their first two World Cup qualifiers this week while he recovers from a hamstring injury.

Rojo hasn't played since suffering the injury during United's 3-2 victory at Southampton on Sept. 20.

"Marcos Rojo was initially named in the squad but will not line up against his Reds teammate Antonio Valencia due to the hamstring injury that has kept him sidelined since the win against Southampton," said a statement on Man United's website.

Argentina open qualifying against Ecuador and Paraguay this week but will also be without the services of the injured Lionel Messi and Enzo Perez.

The Argentina FA said it hoped that Rojo could return to play their next set of qualifiers against Brazil and Colombia in November.
