David Luiz and Thiago Silva would welcome Angel Di Maria at PSG

Paris Saint-Germain stars David Luiz and Thiago Silva have said they would welcome the arrival of Angel Di Maria if the Argentina international leaves Manchester United after only one season.

Le10Sport quoted Silva as saying he believed Di Maria would be an ideal fit for the French champions in the event that he moved on from Old Trafford.

"He's a great player," he said. "Di Maria did not win the Champions League alone [for Real Madrid against Atletico Madrid last season], but I think he did more than Cristiano Ronaldo to win it. Di Maria was amazing to the final."

And Telefoot quoted former Chelsea player Luiz as saying: "If Di Maria wants to come to PSG, that would be great. This is a very good player."

Their comments come after United midfielder Marouane Fellaini said he was misquoted following reports that suggested he had talked up the possibility of Di Maria moving to the French capital.

In a tweet, Telefoot quoted Fellaini as saying: "Angel Di Maria would be a good signing for PSG. He is a world class player."

But the Belgian insisted that was not an accurate reflection of what he had said, and wrote on his Twitter account: "I said that Di Maria would be a good signing for any club as he is a great player. I also said if I were him I would STAY at Manchester United."

United broke the British transfer record when they signed Di Maria from Real Madrid for £59.7 million last summer.

Although the 27-year-old Argentinian made a strong start to life in the Premier League, his form dipped significantly in the second half of the season and he lost his place in the side, leading to speculation that he could move on.
