Algeria's Sofiane Hanni extends Anderlecht deal

Anderlecht's Algeria international Sofiane Hanni has signed a new five-year deal which will keep him with the Belgian giants until 2022.

Speaking to the club's official website, the attacker expressed his delight with the club's show of faith after being offered a two-year extension to his current deal.

"I'm very pleased with this mark of respect," Hanni began. "I'm very happy with RSCA and I hope to celebrate many successes with the fans."

The 26-year-old joined Les Mauves from Mechelen last year, having previously featured for Nantes, Kayseri Erciyesspor and Osmanlispor.

He impressed as Anderlecht reached the quarterfinal of the Europa League last season before their elimination by Manchester United, scoring one and contributing three assists in 11 outings.

Hanni impressed, regularly on the left side, as Anderlecht won the Belgian title last term, and is steadily growing into a key figure in the Algeria squad.

He scored on his first start for Les Fennecs -- against Mauritania in January -- and was one of the few Algerian players who impressed at the African Cup of Nations, finding the net against Tunisia.

In June, Hanni netted again for the North African heavyweights, scoring the only goal of the game as Lucas Alcaraz's side bested Togo. He's now found the net four times in his first six international outings.
