Serge Aurier was instrumental in helping the Ivory Coast assure their spot in the finals, scoring once and setting up another in a 3-0 win over Niger. Ethiopia and Madagascar are still in contention for the other spot in Group K.

In Group I action, Congo were held to a goalless draw by Sadio Mane and Senegal, meaning they will need a win or draw against Guinea-Bissau on Tuesday to secure one of the eight finals spots out of 24 remaining.

Cameroon, who have already booked a finals spot, lost 3-1 to a Cape Verde Islands side that still have a chance to qualify if they can move ahead of Rwanda and Mozambique in their final two matches.

The 2021 edition of the biennial continental competition was moved to January 2022 after the coronavirus pandemic made it impossible to stage the event earlier this year.
