Bournemouth under-21s head coach Carl Fletcher has told ESPN FC that midfielder Harry Arter is "fine" amid speculation over his future.
Arter played 90 minutes as Bournemouth demolished Bury 6-0 in the Premier League Youth Cup on Tuesday, having been linked with a move to West Ham in the January window.
The Republic of Ireland international recently told The Times there "could be a discussion" with Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe at the end of the season after his lack of game time in recent weeks.
But he helped the under-21s dispatch Bury with a fine strike on 25 minutes after winning the ball and playing a neat one-two.
Speaking after the game, Fletcher said: "Harry's come to get some minutes, which is great.
"He had loads of touches on the ball and played well. It's good for our youth players to play alongside a Premier League player."
Asked how Arter's mood had been around the club and in training, Fletcher said he was "fine" and praised his goal, adding: "It was a good finish. He won the ball high up the pitch and played some clever passes in the build-up."
Arter was not the only first-team player in the starting line-up, with United States international Emerson Hyndman and Australian duo Adam Federici and Brad Smith also present.
Hyndman, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Scottish side Rangers, registered an assist in the first half and a goal in the second, adding Bournemouth's sixth on 76 minutes with a close range effort.
Cherries under-21s captain Matt Butcher said: "All the lads played brilliantly today. It's quite easy to come down and not try your best or work hard, but they all did well so credit to them."
