Jack Wilshere: Eddie Howe convinced me to make Bournemouth move

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has said Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe convinced him a loan switch to the south coast was the best option for his career.

Wilshere joined Bournemouth on a season-long deal on Wednesday after Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger sanctioned a temporary move so he could find regular football.

The injury-plagued midfielder chose the Cherries over a host of other offers, including from Crystal Palace and Roma.

He had met both Howe and Palace's Alan Pardew on Tuesday evening but said he was swayed by the Bournemouth boss.

"I had a good chat with the manager and feel sure that this is the best place for me to play and develop this season," Wilshere said in a message on Twitter.

"I am looking forward to working hard every day with the coaching staff and my new teammates to help the club achieve success on the pitch."

Wilshere pushed for a loan move after being left out of Sam Allardyce's first England squad, having made just two substitute appearances for the Gunners this season.

The 24-year-old had dropped down the pecking order under Wenger amid injury problems, missing nearly all of last season with a broken ankle.
