Tomas Andrade eyes Bournemouth debut and Premier League stay

Tomas Andrade told a reporter in Argentina he hopes to win a permanent deal at Bournemouth as he wants to stay in England.

Attacking midfielder Andrade, 19, joined Bournemouth on a season-long loan from River Plate on transfer deadline day in the summer.

Andrade is highly regarded in his homeland after impressing for Argentina's youth sides and was voted player of the tournament at the Under-17 World Cup two years ago.

Andrade, who came close to joining Everton before he moved to Bournemouth, has yet to make his debut for the Cherries and has been playing in the club's under-21s side as he waits for the opportunity to be called into the first team under Eddie Howe.

Bournemouth have the option to make the move permanent at the end of the season and Andrade says he plans to stay in England even if he fails to secure a deal.

"I am very happy to be here," Andrade told ESPN FC. "My dream is to debut in the Premier League. It would be something great, but if it doesn't happen, there's no problem -- I am young, I have to go step by step.

"What I would like is the club to buy me permanently. I don't think about that [Bournemouth not taking up the option to sign him], but my wish is to remain in England.

"If it isn't where I am now, maybe another team will be interested in me. I had been some weeks at Everton and if they showed interest in me other teams may do the same.

"I speak about it time to time with my agent and he is right there are much more leagues and teams in England than in Argentina.

"And, as I have already got adapted to England I would like to stay in this country."

Bournemouth currently find themselves in the Premier League's relegation zone, but Andrade hopes to be given the chance to try and help the team climb out of trouble at the wrong end of the table.

"I know the team is not in a good position, but there is a long way to go," Andrade said. "Everyone in the club has faith in the team.

"I wish to have the chance at some moment to play and shine in this team."

Bournemouth take on Chelsea this weekend at Stamford Bridge and Andrade believes they could spring a surprise by taking advantage of the champions' indifferent form.

"They are not in a good moment either," Andrade said. "It's an away match and it will be difficult, but it could be a chance to give everyone a surprise."

Bournemouth showed their fighting spirit in last weekend's remarkable comeback against Everton when they twice came from behind to earn an unlikely 3-3 draw.

Junior Stanislas' 98th-minute equaliser capped the comeback and Andrade said: "That was a crazy match -- the team managed twice to come back and draw. Even when it seemed to be that the match was lost, the draw was achieved."
