Guangzhou, managed by former Juventus and Italy coach Marcello Lippi, made a giant stride towards a final berth by running out 4-1 winners at Japanese club Kashiwa Reysol.

Conceicao Jorge Wagner put the hosts in front after ten minutes before second half goals from Luiz Muriqui (2), Dario Conca and Elkeson De Oliveira Cardoso sealed a comfortable win.

Seoul, meanwhile, could face Guangzhou in the final after beating Iranian club Esteghlal 2-0 in their semi-final first leg.

Dejan Damjanovic put the Korean’s ahead in the 38th minute from close range before Go Yo-han’s second-half strike made it comfortable. The second leg will take place on October 2 in Tehran.
