AC Milan coach Sinisa Mihajlovic fuming after defeat to Atalanta

Furious AC Milan coach Sinisa Mihajlovic says the club's recent form is "unacceptable" and he is to put the squad into a training camp all week to try and turn their fortunes around.

Mihajlovic, who says he could be forced to continue the training camp until the end of the season if things do not improve, was unhappy with Sunday's 2-1 defeat at Atalanta -- which leaves the Rossoneri sixth in Serie A and at risk of missing out on a place in Europe next season.

"Unfortunately we've got our defects and the time has come for us to look each other in the eye," Mihajlovic told Milan Channel. "We've got to show that we've got balls, if we've got them.

"If you don't run and you don't fight, then it's hard to win. For this, my team's going to be in a training camp up to Saturday.

"We're at breaking point. This is the last option open to us -- we've tried everything else. If it doesn't help, then I'll assume my responsibility. We've picked up two points from four games against sides who are below us. That's unacceptable and I apologise to the fans."

Milan host league leaders Juventus on Saturday night and the outcome of that game will determine if -- and when -- the players will be allowed home again.

"Our training camp's going to last at least up to Saturday, but it could go on to the end of the season if needed," he added. "We can't carry on the way things are."

Mihajlovic added that the decision to go into a training camp had been taken in agreement with the club, although he said he has yet to speak with president Silvio Berlusconi.

"I didn't talk to him, I spoke with [general manager Adriano] Galliani who called the president to inform him of this decision," Mihajlovic told Mediaset. "We need to finish the season off in the best way we can and win the Coppa Italia.

"Talking about the future gets us nowhere. I think my team could have done better, but we deserve to be sixth."

They are just a point ahead of Sassuolo with sixth place becoming important if Milan lose the Coppa Italia to Juventus on May 21. In that case, the side who finishes sixth will take a place in the Europa League, although Milan can secure that by lifting the cup in Rome themselves.
