AC Milan's M'Baye Niang to undergo ankle surgery after car crash injury

AC Milan have confirmed that M'Baye Niang will undergo ankle surgery after he was injured in a car crash last week.

Tests showed that Niang, 21, suffered ankle ligament damage that will be operated on later this week.

A statement on the club's official website said the French striker would be operated on by Dutch doctor Niek van Dijk on Friday.

Niang lost control of his car in heavy rain during the early hours of Feb. 28 following Milan's victory over Torino at the San Siro.

He had recovered from a broken metatarsal suffered against Bayern Munich in preseason to score eight goals in all competitions for the Rossoneri.
