Kevin-Prince Boateng returns to AC Milan on a free transfer

Ghana international Kevin-Prince Boateng has re-joined his old club AC Milan on a free transfer.

Milan confirmed the news on their official Twitter account, writing: "Now it's official: welcome back @KPBofficial!"

Boateng, 28, had been training with the Rossoneri since September after a spectacular falling out with his former employers Schalke.

Reports in Italy, not yet confirmed by the club, say Milan have given midfielder Boateng a short-term contract until the end of the season.

A longer deal is in prospect if he can impress coach Sinisa Mihajlovic.

In the Ghanaian's first spell at the San Siro, he scored 10 goals in 74 league appearances, winning the 2010-11 Scudetto.
